Congratulations to all of our Spring Recital performers!

Our Spring Recitals were held on Sunday, May 18th and Saturday, May 24th at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Napa.

Great Recital.

Family and friends were thoroughly entertained during our two Spring Recitals held May 18th and 24th at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Napa. We heard from a number of parents and friends in the audience that the wide range of musical styles and the ability at which they were performed was truly impressive. Liam Heffernan, aged 9, (pictured at left) played a rocking version of The Ramones “Blitzkrieg Bop”. Good job to all that participated!

Thanks also to our talented and dedicated teaching staff that not only coached the students during the previous months but also helped out during the 2 days of recitals - Sean Allen, Alex Balmaceda, Kent Cohea, Dan DeWitt, David Heilman, Judith Kramp, Gia Murray, Vince Nash, Alan Parks, Ruth Parry, Monette Shirley, Graham Terry and Steve Trovao. We also thank you for being a big part of our school. The next recital will be held in the fall, dates TBA. Watch the website for details.

Garage Band 101 concert features music from the Guitar Hero video game.

It’s been a very busy May at the Napa School of Music. Along with our 2 recital days we have seen the conclusion of yet another incredibly entertaining Garage Band 101 session, this time featuring the music from the popular Guitar Hero video game. This was our 12th GB101 session since we opened in January 2005. The concert presented 6 bands plus a surprise performance from our Faculty band. Pictured at left from left to right is Devon Sifford, Chad Blower and Max King (Alex Massenkoff, not pictured) from the band Turbine Turban Adventure.
