Music Recording for Kids
Creating Music with GarageBand iOS
This eight week Music Recording class explores and explains the GarageBand iOS App as a powerful music educational tool in detail.
Specifically designed with novice/non-musicians in mind, this course provides students hands-on experience using the GarageBand iOS App. Through this guided exploration of GarageBand, students will gain understanding of fundamental music principles, such as rhythm, melody and harmony. Regardless of musical ability, this course will give students the building blocks to create music within the GarageBand App.
Utilizing Apple’s established “Everyone Can Create: Music” course curriculum, students learn to create and sample beats, arrange tracks, record vocals, capture sound, and mix audio. Through eight weekly class meetings, students will be guided through a series of fun activities to help them acquire key skills, which will culminate in a final class project. Students who participate in the eight week course receive a NSM certificate of completion.
